COTTON MATHER 7″ -”I’LL BE GONE”/”ANIMAL SHOW”
Euclid Records will release “I’ll Be Gone” b/w “Animal Show,” a newly-recorded 7” single by legendary power pop artists Cotton Mather. This will be the first in a new series of Euclid Records 45 rpm releases featuring original studio material by bands with worldwide audiences. “I’ll Be Gone” is a cover of an elegantly written and joltingly delivered song by Swedish pop musician Ola Framby. “Animal Show” is the kind of Robert Harrison original that made fans take notice. Suffice it to say it could slip easily alongside the tracks from the Beatles White Album without anybody blinking an eye. On both tracks, the band is joined by no less an icon than pianist Ian McLagan of the Small Faces and Faces.
SLEEPY KITTY 7″ – “DON’T YOU START” / “ALL I DO IS DREAM OF YOU”
Sleepy Kitty is ready to come roaring back into the spotlight with the September release of “Don’t You Start” b/w “All I Do Is Dream of You” in anticipation of their forthcoming album, Projection Room, both on the Euclid Records label. “Don’t You Start” will be on the album proper; it’s a typical Sleepy Kitty original, which means it’s a completely unexpected blast of rock’n’roll propulsion with a sweetly stunning pop vocal. The b-side, “All I Do Is Dream of You,” is a pop standard from 1934, written by the team of Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. It’s been recorded by the likes of Al Bowlly, Judy Garland, and Doris Day, and the inimitable Chico Marx played it on piano in the film A Night at the Opera. When Paige Brubeck of Sleepy Kitty wraps her mesmerizing pipes around the song, however, it becomes an exotic and enticing display of pure beauty. For good measure, Sleepy Kitty took the skills from their day jobs and designed the record sleeve themselves.

ABOUT US
After 30 years of serving the St. Louis area and the world with great music, Euclid Records is now a label. Still based in St. Louis with a nod towards New Orleans (Euclid NOLA opened in September of 2010), the store has formed its own label.
The Euclid Sessions 45 Series was started in 2009, releasing live singles recorded at in-stores and benefiting the fine efforts of The New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund. The singles are limited to 300 and all feature deluxe packaging and silk screened covers by some of the finest artists in the United States.
Since then Euclid has released the debut recording from Pseudo-Psych Gods, Troubadour Dali. April of 2011 brought about the 21 track retrospective of St. Louis’ great 1980′s Power Pop icons The Painkillers. As the Summer of 2011 approaches, Euclid Records…Records is proud to release the debut full length by Pop Duo Sleepy Kitty and the sophomore effort from Troubadour Dali.
